Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MockBase handles personal data when people use the MockBase website, join the waitlist, contact us, or move from the main hub to MockBase practice tools.

Last updated: 8 June 2026

Plain English summary. MockBase is designed as a lightweight preparation hub. We only aim to collect the information needed to run the website, understand usage, respond to messages, manage the waitlist, and improve the practice tools.

1. Who we are

MockBase provides structured practice tools and preparation guides for interviews, viva examinations, grant interviews, public sector interviews, language practice, and other high stakes assessment preparation.

For privacy questions, contact: csytang.uk@gmail.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the main MockBase website and related MockBase pages that link to this policy. Some linked tools, forms, or third party services may have their own privacy notices.

3. Information we may collect

Website usage data. For example, pages visited, approximate location, device type, browser type, referral source, and interaction events.
Waitlist information. For example, your name, email address, product interest, and any message you submit through the waitlist form.
Contact information. For example, your email address and the content of your message if you contact MockBase.
Local practice data. Some tools may store practice progress, notes, or settings in your browser so that your progress is available on the same device.
Technical data. For example, basic logs, security events, error information, and information needed to keep the website reliable.

4. How we use information

5. Legal basis

Depending on the activity, MockBase may rely on consent, legitimate interests, contract related steps, or legal obligations. For example, analytics cookies should rely on consent, while basic security logs may rely on legitimate interests.

6. Cookies and analytics

The website may use essential cookies or local storage for basic operation and consent preferences. Optional analytics or social sharing scripts should only load after you accept optional cookies. More detail is provided in the Cookie Policy.

7. Google Forms and external services

The waitlist currently uses a Google Form. If you submit that form, the information you provide is processed through Google services and used by MockBase to manage interest in current and future products.

The website may also link to separate MockBase product domains, email services, analytics tools, social sharing tools, and hosting providers. These services may process data according to their own policies.

8. Local progress tracking

Where a practice tool uses local progress tracking, the data may be stored in your browser on your device. Clearing browser storage may delete that local data. Unless a specific product states otherwise, local progress data is not treated as a permanent backup service.

9. Data sharing

MockBase does not intend to sell personal data. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the website, such as hosting providers, analytics providers, form providers, email providers, and security tools.

10. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. For example, waitlist information may be kept while the relevant product is being developed or launched, unless you ask for deletion earlier.

11. Security

MockBase uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data. No website can guarantee absolute security, so users should avoid submitting highly sensitive information through general contact forms or waitlist forms.

12. Children

MockBase is not designed for children under 13. If a product is later adapted for younger users, the relevant privacy information should be updated before launch.

13. Changes

This policy may be updated as MockBase products develop. The updated date at the top of the page indicates the latest version.
